This has been a… weird year, to say the least. But, I made some purchases and have done some things that have changed my life, literally. So stay tuned to hear about some of my 2020 favorites that I will def be bringing into 2021 with me.
Yoga Ball Chair
This chair was, hands down, the best purchase of the year. I use it at my desk and can be sitting there studying for hours, and it doesn’t feel like I’ve been sitting that long at all. After using this, I have no more back pain, and to be honest, it’s just fun to sit on. I bought mine on Amazon, but I have a similar one by the same brand linked below.
My GLDN Ring
For my birthday, Eric bought me a little gold signet ring with my first initial on it. It’s the perfect size and is so dainty. This will 100% be my go to ring for a while. If you know me, you know I put rings on and (if I like them) like never take them off, that’s the deal with this one… it’s not coming off any time soon. It’s from the brand GLDN and is the Slim Signet Ring. I’ll link it here.
iFit
So, I bought a $400 treadmill from Walmart, but made sure that it was compatible with iFit. I LOVE IT! I use it every single day. Basically, iFit is an app that connects to my treadmill and it has thousands of trainer-led workout videos from all around the world. The trainer walks you through the workout and gives you the history and fun facts of the place you are walking in. It even automatically adjusts your incline as the “terrain” that you are hypothetically walking on inclines. So it basically makes you feel as if you are actually on a hike. They have treadmill, cycling, running, walking, elliptical, free weight workouts and more! You can even go onto google maps and draw a map of where you want to walk, and it lets you walk it using the map’s satellite technology. I’ll link the iFit website here so you can check it out!
Airbnb
Since we weren’t able to really go anywhere this year, there were a couple times when my friends and I rented Airbnbs for quick weekend trips. These little getaways were some of the best weekends and best memories of the year, without a doubt. We took one trip to Ellicottville in the summer and went on some fun hikes around the area, and then took another Ellicottville trip for my birthday and went skiing and tubing. I’ll link their website here so you can check out stays near you!
Scrunchie Apple Watch Bands
I was sick of my Apple Watch band always sticking to my arm and making me sweat, so I went on Amazon and found these cute scrunchie ones that are SO COMFORTABLE. I literally forget that I’m wearing my watch. I have the leopard print one and I’m obsessed. Plus, it looks cuter than the normal ones. I’ll have them linked here.
Natural Light/ LED Strip Lights
This isn’t necessarily a purchase, but I have been loving waking up every morning with my curtains open and the sun coming through my window. I feel so much better than when waking up to darkness. The mornings when I have to wake up before the sun rises, I set my led lights around my room on a timer to gradually get brighter, so when I wake up, it’s bright in my room, making it SO much easier to wake up. I love these lights too because I use them for red light therapy at night. I set the color to red and then put them on a timer for however long I’m planning to stay awake for. There are so many benefits to red light therapy, just google them. I really think they’ve helped me, whether its just a placebo effect or for real, it keeps me sane. Maybe it’s just the routine of putting them on every night as a sit in bed, idk. I got mine off Amazon, but they sell them literally everywhere.
The Skinny Confidential
If you haven’t heard of TSC, it’s a blog, podcast, and person (kinda). A blogger, Lauryn Evarts Bosstick, is aka The Skinny Confidential, and she is my number one inspiration and role model. More than anything, I love her podcast. I learn so much from the guests they have on and I love her’s and her husband’s personalities. So many of the things that I do every day are because I heard about them on this podcast. You HAVE to check them out, the website is linked here.
Hello Fresh
I’m sure you’ve heard of the meal prep service, but I swear to god it is the best thing I’ve tried. You end up trying new food that you wouldn’t think to try. In my experience, it’s even cheaper than going to the grocery store. They make it so easy, they send the preportioned ingredients right to your door with easy to follow recipes. I NEVER would’ve thought I’d be able to cook chicken and mashed sweet potatoes so easy, but here we are. (They were so good btw) This also makes for such a fun date night. Eric and I love cooking together, he cooks the protein, I cut the veggies, and it just works. I’ll link the website here so you can sign up if interested. (It’s worth it)
Glow Recipe Products
I swear to you, these are the best skincare products I’ve ever (and I mean ever) tried. They’re a clean beauty brand, they smell AMAZING, and they’re noncomedogenic, which is a MUST for me. I love their watermelon glow sleeping mask because I wake up with such glowy skin, it’s incredible. Honestly all of their products are great, you can’t go wrong with any of them. I’ll link their website here, but you can also find them at Sephora and Ulta.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
I’m sure you’ve heard about this lip product before, but if you’re like me, you thought that it probably doesn’t really work and that you don’t need it. But trust me, you need it!! Finally I bought myself the lip mask and I LOVE it. I use it throughout the day and it keeps my lips so soft. They have so many flavors and recently released new ones. I linked them on Sephora below!
32 oz. Hydroflask
So, I have an issue drinking the amount of water I’m supposed to drink. But, after having this huge hydroflask, it’s no longer a problem. I carry it with me everywhere and sip on water all day long. I know that if I drink two 32oz bottles a day, I’m getting the amount of water that I need. I have the white one and I decorated it with my skincare stickers (from the TSC x Elemis collab). I also ordered pink straw lids from Amazon, which I’m OBSESSED with. The hydroflask is linked here and the lids are linked here!
Five Minute Journal
I’ve talked about this before on the blog, but I absolutely love it. In the morning, you write things that you’re grateful for, affirmations, and what you hope to get out of the day. Then at night, you reflect on the day. For more about the journal, see what I said about it in my summer favorites post! I have it linked here, and they even have an app for it now, which I’ve linked here!
Blue Light Glasses
I have been obsessed with my Felix Gray blue light gasses. I really believe that all of the screen time that we get nowadays is destroying out eyes. There is research that blue light is damaging, not only to your eyes, but even to your skin. Some skincare brands, like Murad, are making blue light protecting skin products now. But I can truly say that my glasses make me have no strain on my eyes and no headaches, which I get whenever I don’t wear the glasses. Felix Gray has so many cute styles, I honestly wish I could buy them all. I’ll link the ones that I wear here!
Lululemon Leggings
I am still obsessed with these and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. I know there are dupes on Amazon, but they just never totally work for me. I’ll admit, I like the Colofulkoala ones, but they stretch out and don’t fit me as well after wearing them once or twice. Also, if you wanna try the Colorfulkoala ones, know that they run big! An extra small is a Lululemon size 4. Especially with quarantine, I was living in my leggings literally all year long. I love the 25 inch lulu aligns!! I’ll link them here and the Colorfulkoala ones here.
Thank you so much for supporting me this year, I can’t wait to see what 2021 will bring!! xoxo
